Activation of HTTP service failed with error Operation failed (rc=1)

Hello everyone,

The activation of http service in smicm is failing giving error message :

Operation failed (rc=1)

Message no. ICM006

and no other explanation .i hv struggled with this problem many times ,if some one can help out y its occuring nd wt r the prerequisites tat need to be met inoder for it to activate successfully. requested to revert at earliest as this is urgent.

If some one have similar issue please check the following points

1) There might be hung process at OS level, please check PID by looking into log file stderr0 .

2) Kill the icm process that hum using kill -9 <PID >

3) Go to SMICM and restart the ICM services and check HTTP and HTTPs services

4) If still shows as disable, please delete and recreate the services.

Yes Killing all the Java processes from the task manager for the sidadm and restarting the Java stack resolved the issue for me.
