You must consent to continue showing your profile publicly in order to participate in the SAP Community as of May 25, 2018. To do this, Please click your profile picture in the header and go to the Account Settings from the dropdown menu, Scroll down to a new category called Privacy Settings. Enable your public profile display by clicking the Edit Privacy Settings link, then selecting the green "Allow" button.
Can't find anything like that here. This is the only SAP (please come back Sybase) community that I know of, or am I missing something?

The changes to the forum to will be minimal and have already been completed. They are:

As usually well done, particularly when compared to the SCN approach... 🙂
FWIW, here's a link to the SAP Community note. According to that, any user profile not updated before the particular date will result in a "guestification" of the user's contribution. In my understanding the postings will be attributed to a "Former member", and the user profile will be hidden...
Therefore I hope that this does not apply to the current forum. - Imagine the great contributions by experts like Glenn, Ivan or others would be flagged as anonymous, and you could no longer access their profile to find their many answers but would need to find those via searching for keywords, tags or the like.

This suggests to me that they already show your profile publicly. Given that the deadline is May 25, 2018 I'd say they are requesting your explicit consent due to GDPR legal requirements which will affect all businesses worldwide who wish to do business in Europe. https://www.eugdpr.org/

It applies to all storage and processing of personal data. It's a good thing -- companies now need your explicit consent and it gives you the right & ability to control your own personal data. Without explicit consent, companies are forbidden to store or process your personal data. Any violation faces huge fines: 20 million euros or 4% of your annual revenue, whichever is greater. Expect to see this sort of thing from all companies in the very near future wherever your personal data is involved.
John, are you sure the notification itself applies to our forum here?
I would have thought the SAP Community is that different one. The user management may be related because of SSO.
For anyone: Note that according FAQ there...
