Hi Experts,
We have a requirement from business for allocation setup in SAP Analytics Cloud. Users want to do the allocation for fixed cost plan data in SAC using the standard allocation process. In the current application it is handled through universal allocations in S/4. The requirement from business side is that users should be able to update the rules (change source, target, driver filters) in the allocation step in data action as per need for each cycle. As it is a technical change in data action configuration, we understand that users will need developer kind of access with edit permission for data action. Also if there are any changes, that needs to be done in development system and transported to production system. There is some risk associated with this from security side.
There are 2 concerns:
Could you please guide us on how to proceed with requirement?

Hi @Vivek27
regarding your first question
you need planning professional role. Since Allocation steps migrated to data actions a planning standard user cannot maintain the allocation steps. It is a bit contradictive because in the legacy allocation designer a planning standard user was able to maintain those steps.

Allocations Data Actions in SAC are driven by 3 items, Source Dimension, Driver Dimension and Target Dimension. All of these dimension will support parameters which can be provided at execution time. This can help you select each of these items at run time to influence your Allocation run.
Another approach could be if the above does not work to have multiple allocation setup for different rules and the user runs them based on the rule set they want to run.
Hope this helps !!
