Dear SAP Community,

We request you please find the below abnormalities we identified in Business Objects environment and do the needful.

A. PFB Business Objects environment details.

Version: 4.2 SP5 Patch 11

Environment: Clustered Environment (Two SIA nodes and One Tomcat node)

Web Tier: Apache Tomcat8

File Store: CIFS

CMS DB: Oracle 12C

Server Type: Virtual Servers

O.S: Windows Server 2016 Standard

B. PFB abnormalities details.

1. We observed that few of the secondary SIA node services were in Running/Disabled and Stopped/Enabled state. We tried with server reboot/restart SIA but no luck. Hence, we stopped secondary SIA and kept it in manual state.

2. We are currently running BO system with primary SIA node. When this issue exists, we observed below as follows. Clicking to expand the main folders is taking time to expand and to display the sub folders. While viewing both crystal and webi report, report is keep on spinning and ultimately it is displaying with below two errors.

3. Able to login to CMC/BI Launchpad without any issues. While viewing both crystal and webi reports (no issue with on-demand), we are getting below error.

Error: Open document recv() failed: I/O error during read: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset (Error:INF)

When this issue exists, we are rebooting primary SIA node server and then issue goes off. This issue is happening intermittently but more frequently while viewing both crystal and webi reports (no issue with on-demand).

Thanks

Rama.

It would be beneficial to review Admin guide, so you'll be more familiar with product architecture and functionalities.

For the #1 - have you tried enabling disabled servers and start those that are stopped ?
For #2 - that might indicate improper sizing or config of your servers
For #3 - that sounds like network issue
