ABAP Core Development Tools 3.42.0 vs ABAP Core Development Tools 3.46.0

Dear Community, do you know how to contact with the developers of ADT?
the ABAP Core Development Tools 3.46.0 has no option to enter service key
However the previous one ABAP Core Development Tools 3.42.0
It had a way to enter your service key
Compare these 2 print screen

I am not able to connect to my BTP Trial account since then.

Is there a way to downgrade the tools or correct the new ones?

Dear Ingo,

First of all thank you for your guidance. You were right, the issue was at my side. I am now describing what I have done in case it can help anyone else.

First of all, apologies for a subject misleading

The wizard in ABAP Core Development Tools 3.46.0 is different than the ABAP Core Development Tools 3.42.0 but it has nothing to do with the root-cause.

The important here is the error messaged that I received before solving the issue:

"

Failed to get service instance URL info for

 https: // XXXXX.abap.us10.hana.ondemand.com: java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: org.apache.hc.client5.http.ClientProtocolException: CONNECT refused by proxy: HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy"

The important part here is the last 2 words: 407 which means authorization and proxy. In other words your proxy is blocking the access to the SAP BTP trial account

Standard solution would be to go to Eclipse > Menu > Window > Preferences > General > Network connections and write the IP of your proxy and the password.

I am trying to connect with my company notebook which has PROXY centrally managed, so I need to create a ticket at my company and they solve it. You can close now this question and mark it as solved.

Hi Ign,

to logon to your trial instance you simply need the abap endpoint URL from the service key.

 "endpoints": {
        "abap": "https://7xx.xxx"
    },

Either copy/paste it directly from your service key or use the extract functionality in the logon wizard in ADT to extract the URL.

Hope that helps & best regards, Ingo

Ok, so this is the only and new way to connect to BTP. But then, tell me what can I do not to get the following error: Failed to get service instance URL info for https: // XXXXX.abap.us10.hana.ondemand.com: java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: org.apache.hc.client5.http.ClientProtocolException: CONNECT refused by proxy: HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Insted of the XXXX I am introducing the url in the service key after "abap" as you show in your picture By the way the wizard extract this url automatically But then the question is what does it mean this error and how to solve it?

Hi Ign,

may I please ask you to post the first characters of your trial instance you are using (e.g. 115f98b5)?

Dear Ingo. I have tried right now and I am not able yet. I am not aware of using or not using any proxy. I have the latest ADT (ABAP Core Development Tools 3.46.0) installed and I am able to access my SAP BTP trial via Edge, but not connect from Eclipse and everything there is available. What I am doing. Opening Eclipse, File > New > Project > ABAP cloud project > Cliking on extract, opening my service key file. Clliking on Copy to Clipboard Clking on Next and getting this error. Failed to get service instance URL info for https: // XXXXX.abap.us10.hana.ondemand.com: java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: org.apache.hc.client5.http.ClientProtocolException: CONNECT refused by proxy: HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Can you give me some hint what else to do in order to solve my problem?

Hi, for me it looks like you have an issue with your proxy in your network. Please check if you are using a proxy and if yes that you are authenticated successfully against the proxy.

If the issue still persists I would suggest to open a ticket so that we can do a more detailed analysis.

best regards, Ingo

Please let me know where I can open a ticket, do you mean a new question here in this community? I will try to check with my company if there is a proxy somewhere, but as this is centrally managed I do not think it would be possible for me to change anything As I have not changed anything and this behaviour is coming from last update of ADT. Is there anyway to installed the previous ADT version: ABAP Core Development Tools 3.42.0

Dear Ingo

I have found the settings of my proxy, you can see in print screen attached.

Eclipse proxy settings are in: Menu > Window > preferences > Network connections

Is there anyway you can help me further to connect my Eclipse with SAP BTP trial account?

Hi Ign,

what I can tell you is the trial instance itself is accessible. If you are using your company network to connect to the instance please ask your IT colleagues for help to get the right proxy settings. Maybe you can try a different network e.g. your local one at home (I assume you are not using a proxy there), to see if you run into the same issue.

It is hard to offer full support here. So maybe you can open a customer ticket to support you further.

best regards, Ingo
