Where can I find whether SAP R3 4.6 works with BI NetWeaver 2004s?

R/3 can be looked on as a datasource for BI - you can connect the same to 7.0 , the only thing being that you cannot use some of the new extraction features like Real time data acquisition etc for which you have to install some plug ins..

Hi,

Even 4.6 and BI 7.0 is fine. But if you want to use certain SAP provided datasources then in that case it is better to upgrade to ECC6.0. It depends on your application area. ECC 6.0 has some more sap provided datasources.

Hi,

I would recommend first to upgrade BW to BI and then go for R/3 upgrade to ECC 6.0.

SAP Gurus with upgrade experience can suggest you in a much better way.

Hi,

R/3 is totally separate system. R/3 4.6 works with BI 7.0. I have worked with R/3 4.6 and BW 3.0, which was later upgraded directly to BI 7.0.
