0MATERIAL Structure Modification

Hi All,

For some context we are working on SAP BW 7.5 on HANA, on a "classic" DEV->REC->PREPRODUCTION->PRODUCTION environment

For the need of a project we did some modification of the infoObject 0MATERIAL (added a few attributes), These modifications were transported to our PreProduction environnement but will not be transported to the production until some time.

What can we expect from this modification of the 0MATERIAL Structure, is it still possible to transport change of Transformation or ADSO (containing 0MATERIAL) from our dev environment to the production environment?

We are worried that the modification of 0MATERIAL prevents us to do development on our system until the transport to production

for information, in the production system we have access to the "RSDDB_LOGINDEX_CREATE" program

The short answer: yes you can continue.

The longer answer: yes you can continue but you must ensure that none of the new attributes are used by any means in the transport you send to production. So no use of new attributes as navigational attributes, as fields in HANA views, as looks up information in transformations etc. Technically it can be very difficult (impossible) to ensure this is not happening. Learning: do release to preproduction until pretty close to go-live.
