This year’s global
SAP MaxAttention Summit held in March received an incredibly positive response, with many customers expressing an interest in further interaction with SAP executives. That’s why the virtual
eXecutive eXchange sessions were born.
Each session included a brief update on one of four strategic SAP topic, followed by ample time for questions and discussion among the SAP MaxAttention community. The topics covered were
SAP Cloud ERP, SAP Business Technology Platform,
SAP Mobile Start, and
SAP Signavio. Please see the table at the bottom of this blog post for detailed Q&A summaries for each session.
The kick-off eXecutive eXchange session by
Dr. Philipp Herzig, SVP Cross Product Engineering & Experience, was all about how you, our customers around the globe, can future-proof your business with an integrated cross-portfolio experience. He highlighted
SAP Start as a great example for this. Attendees were particularly interested in understanding the differences and interplay between SAP Start and SAP Fiori. While SAP Fiori is the applications’ design system, SAP Start serves as the central entry point for SAP’s Cloud applications.
Already at the SAP MaxAttention Summit, the keynote and eXecutive eXchange session on
SAP Signavio by
Dr. Gero Decker, General Manager SAP Signavio, generated great interest among the participants. The dialog in the virtual eXecutive eXchange session subsequently provided a platform to further detail the recently released plug and gain approach of SAP Signavio. It helps customers to reduce the preparation time for an SAP ERP transformation from months to hours. Thanks to plug and gain, digital transformations can also be deployed more seamlessly than ever before, contributing to continuous value delivery in the long term.
Responding to the audience’s strong interest in enhancements through AI capabilities, Dr. Gero Decker explained that SAP Signavio already uses advanced statistics and algorithms to analyze data and uncover insights in data such as outliers or correlations. The product´s process analysis and mining capabilities include full process discovery, conformance, variant analysis, automatic insights and recommendations. SAP Signavio is also developing built-in capabilities that´ll provide Generative AI-powered process and KPI recommendations that can be applied right away to achieve even faster insights and drive process enhancements, with broader releases expected in the upcoming months.
The session on
SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) attracted the highest level of customer interest, as measured by the number of attendees.
Anja Schneider, SVP & COO, Technology & Innovation, reflected briefly on the great customer session with Adidas that she co-hosted on the SAP MaxAttention Summit stage, and emphasized the value of mutual customer experience sharing. SAP BTP is at the heart of SAP’s strategy, as Anja Schneider pointed out: “SAP BTP is the foundation of everything we do at SAP”. It is the platform that encompasses application development, automation, integration, data management and analytics, as well as artificial intelligence. As companies begin their SAP BTP journey, it is extremely valuable for them to review
11 actionable use cases on how to get started, depending on the business challenges they want to solve.
Jan Gilg, President and Chief Product Officer of Cloud ERP at SAP, emphasized that companies’ challenges are at the center of SAP’s interests – as they reveal how SAP can support them. Today’s challenges highlight the need for new strategies and digital transformation journeys. An intelligent and networked cloud ERP is a key enabler.
Cloud ERP is at the heart of SAP's product strategy and is the foundation for the intelligent and sustainable enterprise. Jan Gilg reiterated that SAP wants to support customers on their adoption journey, understanding that it is a complex and individual process. Diving deeper into differences between private and public cloud, he explained that SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition is a great choice for new customers in the greenfield market, as they are typically starting from scratch, either without an ERP solution or with a strong desire to overhaul their existing system and processes. For the existing SAP customer base, there is often a need for additional capabilities and flexibility to facilitate their move to the cloud, addressed by SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition. Leveraging the capabilities of SAP BTP, customers can easily follow the clean core approach and migrate into a leaner cloud ERP solution.
It was a great pleasure to reconnect with the SAP MaxAttention customer representatives and even more rewarding to see them take advantage of the opportunity to interact directly with SAP’s top executives and ask their questions. We appreciate that the attendees took advantage of this opportunity to talk about their companies’ use cases, ask for recommendations, and share experiences with their peers. Are you interested in more insight into the session content and the executives’ in-depth explanations?
