Short answer: it's right
HERE.
If this is all you need, you can skip the rest of the blog.
As you may have noticed, there is no pdf/ppt based road map for SAP Process Orchestration any more. Like other products and solutions of SAP, the SAP Process Orchestration road map is now accessible from the
SAP Road Map Explorer, a new tool providing you an interactive road map experience. You can access the SAP Road Map Explorer also from the
SAP Road Map web page on
www.sap.com.
Technically, SAP Process Orchestration itself is not a product, it's actually a solution bundle comprising Process Integration, Business Process Management and Business Rules Management capabilities, and as such it is part of the product SAP NetWeaver. So, the SAP Road Map Explorer don't let you search for a product SAP Process Orchestration, instead you need to search for the product
SAP NetWeaver. Besides products, you can search the SAP Road Map Explorer based on further criteria such as focus topics, business capabilities, industries, etc. All SAP Process Orchestration road map topics have been assigned to the business capability Process Integration. So you can narrow down your search based on the business capability
Process Integration.
Note that by default the time range is set to Current to Last. If you like to see features that we have shipped in the past, you can adapt the time range.
If you are also interested in the road map topics in the context of B2B, add the product
SAP Process Integration, business-to-business add-on into the search. That's what I did for the direct link above.
We usually ship a new B2B add-on support package once a year, so If you can't find the product in the drop down list, you may adapt the time range.
So let me sum up: Access the
SAP Road Map Explorer and search for the following:
- Product: SAP NetWeaver & SAP Process Integration, business-to-business add-on
- Business Capability: Process Integration
Besides this short term road map, let me share some further information with respect to the
long term road map of SAP Process Orchestration.
As you may have seen already, SAP has extended the mainstream maintenance of SAP NetWeaver release 7.5 which hence also applies to SAP Process Orchestration 7.5. Mainstream maintenance of release 7.5 goes now until 2027 with an option for extended maintenance until 2030. See
Maintenance strategy for SAP NetWeaver 7.5 fully aligned with SAP Business Suite 7. Product strategy.... For all other releases, mainstream maintenance ends after end of 2020. If you are still on an older release, check out
my blog for the upgrade and migration options to release 7.5.
So, your investments are save for at least another 10 years. Beyond this, check out the
SAP Insider paper which provides guidance for a successful transition from SAP Process Integration and SAP Process Orchestration to the SAP Integration Suite. In the paper, we walk through three actions that are key to a successful transition, including upgrading to SAP NetWeaver 7.5, building new integrations with SAP Integration Suite, and following best practices for moving existing integration scenarios to SAP Integration Suite.
Note, for reading the paper you need to register at least as Member at SAP insider, the Member membership level is complimentary. Optionally, you may access the complete
second issue in 2020 of the journal, the paper starts at page number 99.
Enjoy reading.
