Kaeser Kompressoren is one of the largest providers of compressed air systems and compressed air consulting services in the world, with over 4,400 employees worldwide and sales partners in 100 countries. The team at Kaeser recently filmed a video that describes how they’re using SAP Jam to improve communication and collaborate within business processes.

In the video, Falko Lameter, chief information officer at Kaeser, says the company is evolving from a product provider into a solutions provider, and their information technology infrastructure plays an important role.  “Our products are in use around the world. When we offer a service, a mobile strategy is of central importance – one that’s got the ability to bring together our sales representatives, service personnel, and also our partners and customers.”

Before Kaeser began using SAP Jam, people worked in ways that weren’t naturally transparent. “Until now, collaboration has largely taken place in Outlook, over email, and everyone organized their filing systems in their own way,” Lameter says.

With SAP Jam, he says the improved communication results in better quality work and faster process execution. “You can allocate and schedule tasks, and arrange meetings. You can set up wikis, maintain blogs, everything that collaboration calls for.”

Martin Schamberger, application manager at Kaeser, describes in the video how SAP Jam allows colleagues to work together towards the same goal. “All information on the topic will be stored in SAP Jam and is then accessible in one place.” Schamberger says that the integration of SAP Jam with SAP CRM also provides an advantage. “Everyone has all this information simply and easily available in real time.”

As Kaeser’s sales cycle becomes ever shorter, Lameter says that SAP Jam helps build a bridge from the first client contact through to the offer. “What’s important is that it’s in the cloud, and that partners can be integrated, and so can SAP processes – for instance, CRM.”

Ultimately, SAP Jam becomes the information hub for all participants. “Everyone’s thrilled with SAP Jam,” Lameter says. “Social collaboration hits the nail right on the head.”
