
Following up on the BTP global expansion announcement I shared on April 26th, we are excited to announce that SAP and Microsoft are extending the regional availability of SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP AI Services on Microsoft Azure.
As part of SAP’s ongoing initiative to serve SAP Business Technology Platform customers globally, SAP will expand its footprint on Microsoft Azure to six new regions and will extend the availability of SAP Business Technology Platform services in the existing seven public Microsoft Azure regions.in West Europe, US East, US West 2, Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney, and Switzerland North. Upon completion of the service extension, SAP Business Technology Platform will run in 13 Microsoft Azure regions.
In addition, SAP will continue to deliver SAP Business AI to customers at scale by bringing SAP AI services to three Microsoft Azure regions. This multi-year effort represents a deep commitment to the SAP and Microsoft partnership and a major milestone for serving SAP customers on Microsoft Azure globally.
The expanded service availability complements our RISE with SAP on Microsoft Azure offering as it allows customers to run their SAP Cloud ERP and SAP Business Technology services in the same Microsoft Azure data center. SAP customers on Microsoft Azure will receive simplified access to numerous joint SAP and Microsoft innovations.
With the deployment of SAP AI services in Microsoft Azure data centers, customers can easily combine SAP and Microsoft services to run joint AI use cases.

In addition to the expansion of SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP will also offer SAP AI Core, including Generative AI Hub and Joule, on Microsoft Azure enabling customers to unlock AI innovations for their SAP stack on Azure. The SAP AI services will be offered in the following regions targeted throughout Q2-Q3 2024:
