I understand that the new Community has its challenges and it is being really hard for some people to find their way around. I suppose the people in charge of the Community Website System is working hard to fix the issues and make it a better experience for everyone. Here I will try to show you some ways to navigate the new system in order to achieve some basic tasks every community member is missing.

I just simply couldn't accept not being able to find an answer to the most basic tasks I used to do on the old site.

Therefore, here they are:

1) How do I list the open questions on Q&A just for BTP - not for all questions related to the Technology topic:

If you open the top menu "Products and Technology" and navigate to category "Technology" you will be presented with three tiles:

  • Technology Q&A
  • Technology Blogs by Members
  • Technology Blogs by SAP

However, if you click on the Technology Q&A, you will be presented with a list of all questions for this topic and you won't be able to filter out based on any specific topic. 

The trick here is to open 'any' SAP managed TAG. Find 'any' Question and click on 'any' SAP Managed Tag.

That will open a page where you will have a new drop down menu, just above the 'Latest Posts', like so:


Click on the menu and it will display a tree-view of the topic areas under the Q&A.

Then, all you have to do is navigate to the Technology Q&A and select the topic you wish to filter.

NOTE: I'm not sure how long this will be working as it seems the owners of the site have already began changing this since it affects the whole community.

NOTE2: While this tip will display the questions for a particular tag, it won't have any filtering capabilities. So, you will have to manually look for open questions. Which means you will be looking at the list questions where the answer icon is 'zero'

2) How do find the Create Blog Post button:

There are several places where now you will be seeing a button like: 'Create Content', 'Create Post' or 'Ask a Question', 'Create a Discussion'. To the best of my knowledge they all refer to the same thing - which is 'Post a new question'. So, don't mix the wording 'content' for 'blog'. When you click on one of such buttons, you won't be creating a blog post. Instead, you will be creating a post entry under the Q&A session.

If you want to create a blog post (such as this), you ought to click on the tile 'Technology Blogs by...':

That will show a list of blogs for this topic and a button entitled: 'Create a blog'.


That is the correct button to create a new blog entry under the topic you've chosen.

If I find any other tips, I'll post it here.
