Well it has certainly been a different year, COVID-19 has many of us working from home and we are all experiencing change and uncertainty. With such a volatile business environment the need for analytics and planning is paramount. Our Customer’s journey to the world of Advanced Analytics, Machine learning and collaboration has accelerated and that has had an impact on our focus within SAP Analytics Cloud for 2020.

We will be coming to you very shortly with blogs and videos explain the latest and greatest features we are releasing in SAP Analytics Cloud in Q4, but before that I want to give you a sneak peek at some of the highlights.

Smart Insights

Since its release Smart Insights has easily been one of our most popular features. It gives business users the ability to quickly find insights in their data such as top contributing factors, behaviour and variances over time with the ability to drill and add filters as required. With increasingly changing market conditions the ability for business users to access insights themselves without the need for a Data Scientists has never been more important. Nor has the ability to access these insights in real time, with the ability to run Smart Insights against Live HANA Connections this is now possible.

We have also continued to enhance use case support for Smart Insights throughout 2020 in Q4 we continue that with:

  • Improved support for hierarchies

  • Drill down on calculated measures

Planning – Data Actions

Regardless of the industry they sit in, I can bet most Planners will have updated their plans and forecasts they set in January and will most likely have had to continuously revise them throughout the year. Within SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning, Data Actions are key to help a planner automate and compete their tasks. This is another area that we have been adding enhancements to throughout 2020 and in Q4 we have 2 very useful additions:

  • Nested Data Actions: The ability to Embed existing Data Actions as steps within another Data Action

  • Data Action Monitor: Where a Planning user can easily review Data Action history from a single console

What if Analysis?

Uncertainty has been a real challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic and businesses have had to be agile in order to cope with changing restrictions, social distancing rules and the impact that has on their business. The ability to use our “What-If Analysis” capability within SAP Analytics Cloud, allows users to quickly model up different scenarios in order to keep their business going in the most efficient manner.

Financial Analytics dashboard for SAP Analytics Cloud:

Last but at no means least, one of the key differentiators we have with SAP Analytics Cloud is the ability to deliver out of the box Line of Business Content. The Financial analytics dashboard for SAP Analytics Cloud is a flexible cross-application analytics solution to enable a CFO to monitor and act on the most critical business metrics and to monitor and improve the company’s overall performance.

It not only gives the CFO but other company leaders the ability to collaborate and make decisions by analyzing key performance indicators such as P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and people analytics. As you can imagine in a time where we are all working remotely this is key.

We have only scratched the surface on these exciting topics and will be sharing more details with you over the coming weeks, but for now I hope this has piqued your interest to hear more.
