Sneak peek.png

Happy New Year All and we have a very exciting start to Q1 2025. We have so many great features coming this quarter it was hard to settle on a Top 5 but we have and in this blog we give you a sneak peek in to our Top 5 features in SAP Analytics Cloud for QRC1 2025. A full list of what is coming can be found on our Roadmap Explorer.

'Seamless planning' integration with SAP Datasphere

A much anticipated item for this quarter is the introduction of Seamless planning, a new approach to the planning integration between SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere. With seamless planning, you can store the SAP Analytics Cloud model’s data (fact and master data) directly in SAP Datasphere, reducing the data footprint and making it available for real-time consumption, additional processing and extensibility scenarios using SAP Datasphere’s capabilities.

Main benefits include:

  • Real-time steering on semantically enriched data.
Enhanced flexibility to perform live reporting across SAP Analytics Cloud and other data sources based on joint SAP Datasphere analytic models.
  • Extensibility of SAP Analytics Cloud planning using SAP Datasphere capabilities such as data operations using SQL editor.

Compass – probability simulation

We are very excited to announce the arrival of SAP Analytics Cloud compass, which provides Monte Carlo simulation capabilities with a business user-friendly interface. This enables non-technical users to perform real-time multi-variate analysis without prior IT setup or advanced statistical skills.

With compass, we have broken down the barrier between this mathematical technique and business users by stripping away the complexity and providing an end-user centric interface for configuration and risk analysis. Now non-technical user can also enjoy the benefits of stochastic simulation without prior advanced maths knowledge or IT setup.

Video data story to present business insights using short videos

Another very exciting feature this quarter is the addition of the "Video Data Story". This feature will allow business users to design and create a short-form video directly inside SAP Analytics Cloud without any video editing expertise. It provides an alternative way to present the business insights using a brand-new format which could be more attractive and intuitive compared with the static content in story.

For step by step instructions on how to create one of these story check out this blog by @roy_jin

Just ask enhancements

Just ask has been a popular feature in SAP Analytics Cloud and in this release we add several new features including:

  • Just Ask Support for Currency Conversion in Acquired Data Models
  • Just Ask now displays a limited number of data points in the bar charts. Unless you specify a rank or sort, the number of bars shown in a bar chart is limited to 10 bars.
  • Leveraging the SAP HANA Cloud vector engine for word embeddings and perform similarity queries

Job Monitor – Multi Action support

With the addition of Job Monitor, it will be much easier for business users and admin users to gain insights about the status of background jobs and overall processes.

You can now monitor the jobs created while transporting the content. All jobs related to transport operations (such as Export, Import, Download, and Upload) are listed in the Monitor page. You can quickly review the import summary from the Status column.
