Since many years SAP is offering the SAP BW Report-Report Interface (RRI) functionality in its products like Lumira or Analysis for Office.

With the upcoming 2024 QRC3 release (roadmap), we are happy to announce that the RRI will be supported in SAP Analytics Cloud.

What is the Report-Report Interface

At its core, RRI enables users to link different reports together and provides seamless navigation between reports. For instance, starting with a high-level summary report, you can drill down into more detailed information without losing the data context.

Getting Started with RRI: Prerequisites and Setup

Before using the RRI feature in SAP Analytics Cloud, you need to apply SAP Note 3439944 on your SAP BW system. You can do this by using SNOTE or by patching your system to the minimum support package mentioned in the note.

Once your system is ready, activate the RSADMIN parameter "INA_RRI_ENABLE" and set it to "X". To create, change, or delete RSADMIN parameters, use the report "SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN" (SE38). Keep in mind that this parameter might change in future versions of the RRI feature and support.

Now that the SAP BW system is configured, you can start defining jump targets. Use transaction RSBBS to specify the sender report, define the target receiver report, and outline the assignment details.

That’s it, you have enabled the RRI and can use it in SAP Analytics Cloud.

In the first phase of the RRI support in SAP Analytics Cloud, the following static scenarios will be included:

  • BW Queries (will be opened in Data Analyzer)
  • Web Addresses (https only)
  • ABAP Transactions
  • ABAP Reports

Jump targets are supported on tables of the Optimized Story Experience or Data Analyzer when using a SAP BW Live connection.

Integrate RRI targets in SAP Analytics Cloud

Good news! You don't need to develop or maintain anything in SAP Analytics Cloud to use the RRI. The magic happens entirely in the SAP BW backend during the sender/receiver assignment process.

When using RRI, jump targets are offered via the context menu. Right-click on a cell in your report; if jump targets are available, they'll be listed under the "Jump To" entry.

Help.

Does SAC support jump targets for Datasphere Analytic Models? Like the BW Live connections described above.

You want the ability to pass a filter from 1 SAC Story with a Datasphere Analytic Model to a 2nd Story/Datasphere Analytic Model.

I have tried the hyperlinks with dimension filters, but this does not filter the target stories data set.
