With Oracle 12c SAP supports the new user concept 'Oracle Standard' featuring the seperate Oracle software owner 'oracle'. This concept is the very same as used by SAP installations on Oracle RAC, Oracle ASM and Oracle Engineered Systems. The classic user concept 'SAP Classic' with Oracle software owner and database administrator ‘ora<dbsid>’ is deprecated but still supported with Release 12.1 for SAP installations with an Oracle single instance database on file system (SI/FS).
In July we have announced to support Oracle 12c environments with SAP Landscape Virtualization Management (LVM) by Q3 of 2015. When leveraging the full power of SAP LVM and the SAP Host Agent to manage or provision Oracle 12.1 databases SAP recommends to use 'Oracle Standard' together with a separate user 'ora<dbsid>'.
The upcoming SP09 release of Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) will continue to implement this 'ora<dbsid>' user when choosing 'Oracle Standard'. For Oracle installations already upgraded to version 12.1 it is still possible to add the 'ora<dbsid' user following the instructions provided by SAP Note 2204211.
Furthermore, SP09 of SWPM will still support the 'SAP Classic' concept as well.
[UPDATE] Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) SP09 is now released as announced! Additional information about SWPM can be found at SCN and within the SL Toolset pages.
