The time of subtle configurations and endless SQL queries definition in order to extract personal information is over! One of the most desired and awaited functionality of SAP Identity Management is finally here!

As of SAP Identity Management 8.0 SP08, you can take advantage of the standard reporting. It gives you the opportunity to easily create and modify reports that extract current data and download them locally.

The functionality is developed and delivered upon your requests submitted in the SAP Customer Connection program. Now, let me get straight to the point and tell you more about standard reports!

Before we start, make sure that you have met all prerequisites described in Standard Reports.

Let’s move on to the essence of standard reports. They are delivered as predefined forms in the Identity Management User Interface (UI). You can run them for one specific user, role and privilege or for all users.

These are the standard reports that you can take advantage of:

  • Report for assigned users for a role

  • Report for assigned users for a privilege

  • Report for history attributes for a user

  • Report for history assignments for a user

  • Report for attributes for all users

  • Report for assignments for all users

  • Report for double privilege assignments (from a business role and privilege assignment)

The report forms are displayed and run on the Self Services and Manage tabs. Reports for one entry are run on the Manage tab, while reports for all entries - on Self Services tab.

Report results are listed on the View Reports tab. When you run a report, a new entry is added there. It provides information about the entry the report is being executed for, the status, the report name, the report date, and the result. Report data is extracted from the database in real time. Results are displayed as zip links. Every link title contains the report name and date. You can download the zip file and extract the csv file.

For more information, see: Executing Reports.

With standard reports, a housekeeping procedure is introduced. It cleans up report entries older than 30 days. The period is configurable. By default, the procedure is not enabled.

You can create your own reports or adjust the existing ones to meet your business needs. To modify existing reports, you can fine-tune the SQL select query of a given report, so that it extracts the data you need.

For more information, see: Creating or Modifying Reports.

The time has come for you to launch yourself into standard reporting.

Any question or feedback will be appreciated!
