A few days before SAPPHIRE we close another awesome month packed with great 🚀 new features in SAP Datasphere. There are also lots of excellent new blogs in the community in May.

My top features in May

Multi-lingual metadata support

The multi-language support was just extended with the introduction of the translation dashboard where you are now able to also translate the object metadata, specifically for analytics with SAP Analytics Cloud. You can now access the dashboard and translate metadata such as business names and column names for dimensions and analytic models, and also hierarchy dimension labels for stories to different languages. You can translate manually or via an XLIFF file, but also manage already existing translations, and update them. For more information check out the online documentation and the blog SAP Datasphere Multilingual Support - Translation Dashboard.

Efficiency Features

We have added features in various areas of the product helping to use the product way more efficiently.

  1. In the analytic model you can now copy existing measures to create a new measure. Very helpful if you are creating a bunch of similar measures. In addition, for measures, attributes and associated dimensions there is now a Select All/Unselect All checkbox which is very helpful. More information.
  2. Data access controls are now listed in the Data Builder application and in addition to the relocation, you can now import and export data access controls in CSN/JSON files. More information.
  3. If email notification is set up for a task chain, you will now receive email notifications if an error occurs during initialization or preparation phase to run the task chain, before the task chain run actually starts. More information.
  4. In the data marketplace you can now duplicate existing data products which helps especially if you create lots of similar data products. More information.
