What have we got for you in Q3? Lots of useful new features, of course! Our development certainly didn't put their feet up this summer, and what’s more, they spent it listening to feedback from customers and putting it into action.
So here is our selection of top features for Q3:
- more flexibility in space management
- new functions for Data Access Control
- easier management of the Remote Query Monitor
- the new connection type Precog
- sample content for Retail
More Flexibility in Space Management
As an SAP Data Warehouse Cloud administrator, you can apply limitations on resource consumption at the space level: you can specify the maximum number (or percentage) of threads and gigabytes of memory that statements running concurrently in the space can consume.
Furthermore, you can use the new SAP Data Warehouse Cloud command line interface, dwc, to create, read, update, and delete spaces. dwc is a Node.js package that you download using the Node Package Manager.
New Functions for Data Access Control
Up to now, it was not possible to persist a view if it has data access control assigned to it. We have made this possible: data access control is copied on replica data to ensure that users can only see what they’re allowed to see.
And there is also an integration feature: You can now import analysis authorizations defined in SAP BW∕4HANA 2.0 into SAP Data Warehouse Cloud to provide row-level protection for data in remote tables imported from these systems.
Easier Management of the Remote Query Monitor
For Administrators, we made it easier to identify issues: in the Remote Query Monitor, you can now check the running statement to identify root cause issues.
The New Connection Type Precog
With the new connection type Precog you can extend connectivity beyond SAP Data Warehouse Cloud standard remote connectivity and cover additional data sources that are available with Precog.
Sample Content for Retail
In the Content Network, you can find not only Business Content for Retail, but also a link to sample content which you can use to test and experience SAP Data Warehouse Cloud.
