Your first reaction here is likely one of stupefaction, which is completely understandable - SAP is new to sponsoring IBM Maximo User Group (MUG) chapter meetings. The continuation comes from the Syclo acquisition back in June of 2012. Did you know the former Syclo mobile platform and mobile applications were backend system agnostic? The Syclo platform essentially acted as a middle man passing changes in data back and forth from the backend systems to the client (mobile device) and vice versa.
Syclo got its start working with Maximo backend systems from its first customer, Rush Memorial Hospital, in Chicago. SAP is continuing the products specifically developed for Maximo systems including Work Manager, Inventory Manager and Auditor. At IBM Pulse 2013, which SAP sponsored, Joe Granda shared the Maximo and TRIRIGA customer product roadmaps during an expo theater session. Our partners and we will continue sharing the message and information with Maximo users at upcoming MUG events throughout the year.

- April 30 – May 1: Maximo Utility Working Group Spring 2013 Workshop – Portland, OR
The MUWG Spring and Fall workshops are the premier events for Maximo users in utilities, and the spring workshop theme this year is “Using Maximo Data to Improve Asset Performance and Manage Reliability at Lower Costs”. The event has presentation sessions for new and experienced Maximo users as well as Maximo certification opportunities. Speaking on the theme will be a few former Syclo (now SAP) customers including Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), Portland General Electric, and Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Meet with us at our booth during Vendor Night on April 30 to learn the benefits of mobilizing Maximo, hear about the latest Maximo customer product roadmap, and see live product demonstrations. - June 4: Western Canada Maximo User Group Spring Chapter Meeting – Calgary, Canada
The WCMUG annually hosts a Fall meeting in British Columbia and a Spring meeting in Alberta. Each meeting consists of user presentations, an open forum/roundtable, a networking session and an optional training workshop. Hear former Syclo (now SAP) customer ATCO Electric share their story about increasing usability of the Maximo Transportation Solution. Plus, we will be on hand through the daylong event to share insights on the benefits of mobilizing Maximo, answer questions on the latest Maximo customer product roadmap, and demonstrate the suite of SAP mobile apps for Maximo.
