With the latest release of SAP BTP SDK for iOS, the SAP BTP SDK Assistant has been enhanced to support the creation of applications using IAS (Identity Authentication Service) security settings. Previously, this option was available only on SAP Mobile Services. Now, you can directly configure IAS security settings in the Assistant, alongside the existing support for XSUAA.
The Assistant now fully supports Complex OData Types in the scaffolding applications it generates. Whether you're using the generated app as a reference or a starting point, it will handle OData services with complex types, simplifying the development of UIs based on complex data structures.
In this release, the Foundation framework has been enhanced to support Apple’s bytes API. This powerful addition enables you to retrieve the contents of a URL request as an asynchronous sequence of bytes. With this capability, you can now stream response data in real-time without needing to wait for the entire response to be fully downloaded.
Additionally, the latest version of the SDK introduces Secure Store APIs, allowing you to securely store sensitive information such as authentication tokens. This feature will accelerate your watchOS development, allowing you to store authentication context between your phone app and watch extension.
By upgrading to the 24.8.0's OData Library, you can start using the $search & $filter OData queries for both online and offline apps. The offline apps are also capable of using OData open type and a single entity type for containment of multuple parent entity sets.
The 24.8 version includes several additions and enhancements to SAP Fiori & SAP Fiori Flows. You can now integrate third-party scanning solutions into the scanning flow. By introducing a list of scanning options, users can select from multiple available scanning solutions, with the added ability to search through these options.
