With the availability of SAP BTP ABAP Environment on Google Cloud (GCP) on March 8th 2024, Steampunk has reached the next milestone in the multi-hyperscaler availability for our customers, partners and SAP products using Steampunk.
The following regions on Google Cloud are now supported by SAP BTP and Steampunk:
- US Central (Iowa)
- Europe (Frankfurt)
- India (Mumbai)
These 3 regions on Google Cloud complement the 9 regions on AWS and 7 regions on Azure that are already supported. By adding Mumbai to the list, Steampunk is now available in India as well.
SAP and Google Cloud have plans to gradually introduce SAP BTP and SAP BTP ABAP Environment in more regions on Google Cloud in the future.
Available Service Plans
Service plans standard, saas_oem, and free are available in all three regions.
How to use Steampunk on GCP
To create a new Steampunk system on Google Cloud, open the SAP BTP Cockpit and create (or use) a subaccount for the respective Google Cloud region cf-xx30. Follow the steps as explained in the Steampunk documentation.
