Scope
This demo reviews the EDW model that is available in the BW-backend already.
Role
IT expert
User interface
SAP GUI
In transaction RSA1 we review the transactional cube TE13_PL. In the settings we see a new setting ‘auditable’ that prepares the cube for generic auditing (00:20). Setting this flag generates a new dimension into the cube with predefined characteristics (00:24). BW-IP and PAK will automatically populate these characteristics at runtime when activated. We will see in a later chapter how auditing is activated in the BPC-UI and how it can be reported on. The cube offers other, more semantic characteristics in dimension ‘Dimension 1’ (00:28). ‘Country’ is of particular interest, as it contains additional attributes that we will make use of for the collaboration features in BPC (00:35). Checking the master data shows that for every country we have other users and teams assigned to the attributes ‘Owner’, ‘Team’ and ‘Reviewer’. For those experienced with BPC, this might sound familiar. We’ll refer to them later on in the workstatus definition. Finally we execute the pre-defined BW-query TE13DQ1 on this data model in the BW query monitor (00:56). We see booked actuals of 2013 and empty plan data for 2014. The further demos aim to populate these plan data.
