Overview:

In this Blog we will explore about S/4HANA Embedded Analytics, one of the main advancements of S/4HANA, will be covered in this blog article. Within SAP S/4HANA, real-time operational reporting is made possible by a set of SAP Fiori tiles. SAP provides standard content known as Fiori analytical apps for a variety of functional areas, and SAP Fiori serves as the front-end user experience for Embedded Analytics.

Step 1:

As a first step, you are advised to launch the “Manage KPI and Reports” app from the S4HANA system. This will present us with the below shown screen. Select the Reports icon from as shown below.

Step 2:

In the Reports Icon, there is drop down named “Report Type”, it will present us with various options. Namely “Generic drill down”, “Analytical List Page” and “Data Analyzer”. In this blog we will focus on very important report type called “Analytical List Page”.

Step 3:

Navigate to “Definition” tab and provide basic information about the report.

Step 4:

In the same tab – There is a ”Define” icon will be shown, click that and select “data sources”  as shown below. For this example, we are picking “Sales Volume – Query” for demonstration purpose.

Step 5:

Select the Next tab: “configuration” . Here you will have an option to select “CHARTS” and “TABLES”. Select the chart option and pick the required “DIMENSIONS” and measures for the chart.

*Please note depends on the selected query, if there are any mandatory input parameters, you need to provide this information to get the result.

 

Same way – select the “TABLE” Option from the same page.  Here select the settings option and pick the required columns.

Output of the Table as shown below. Please press “Activate” button  for completing this configuration.

Please note you will have a Chart and Table in the same page. It will depict the required information in the different visualization formats. For example, you can choose the required charts from the list of available charts.

 

Step 6:

Once the widgets are activated. You will be allowed to access the next “Application” tab. Here we can select the Fiori tiles. As shown below.

Please provide the required basic information for the APP and click “Save and Publish”.

 

Step 7:

Once the Application is saved, it will take us to the “Custom Catalog Extension” as shown below. Provide the appropriate business catalogue by clicking the “Add” button.  Once its added, select the “Publish” button to complete the entire process.

Conclusion:

As described earlier, this “Analytical List Page” is a powerful feature from S4HANA Embedded analytics. It requires very less technical skills to create business friendly reports using this tool. The customers will be truly delighted to experience dynamic reports and easy to implement Analytical features from S4HANA.
