In this blog post, you will gain exclusive insights into SAP MaxAttention Influencer Forums, a regional event series, solely for SAP MaxAttention customers. Find below the purpose of the event concept, customer feedback and learnings, a summary of past events and an outlook towards 2023.
Guiding customers through their digital transformation in a world confronted with climate change and major economic challenges
Companies are on the path to becoming intelligent and sustainable enterprises. At the same time, they are confronted with major global challenges to increase their resilience in the face of disrupted supply chains, inflation, as well as energy and climate crises.
In addition, as information technology continues to evolve, SAP products are continuously being enhanced to meet the above mentioned business challenges. As a suite provider, SAP customers can take advantage of integrated end-2-end processes that make them intelligent enterprises, including competitive functional extensions and third-party products. Starting with value cases and business process design, architectural guidance, and the right planning to best leverage SAP solutions’ capabilities. These challenges are therefore the guiding topics for the agenda of the SAP MaxAttention Influencer Forums.
SAP MaxAttention serves companies in both mature and emerging markets. It is essential to understand the different regional business requirements within these diverse markets.
This year we held the first three regional forums: In Chicago, Bangalore, and Berlin. Customers had the opportunity to influence SAP MaxAttention offerings. They have benefited from an open, interactive, and in-person exchange with SAP engineering and services experts, as well as best practices sharing from other customers. In addition, participation impacts the focus areas of the annual and global SAP MaxAttention Summit. The intimate setting of these events creates space for sharing individual needs, addressing specific topics of interest, and addressing current concerns.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions earlier this year, the SAP MaxAttention team in collaboration with the SAP Intelligent Enterprise Institute slowly but steadily scheduled on-site events in three different regions and market units. These regional forums addressed customer needs and aimed to achieve closer alignment between customers and SAP MaxAttention offerings. In addition, further enhancements to the SAP MaxAttention offering, including the commercial framework, were presented to obtain first-hand customer feedback.
During the dialogs, expert talks, design thinking and customer best practice sharing sessions, customers were guided to successfully transform their businesses by applying cloud solutions from SAP, leveraging a clean core with custom code remediation and industry innovations on the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP Business Technology Platform). This included complementary SAP partner solutions and integration of proprietary and third-party components, and much more.
Most importantly, attendees enjoyed the opportunity to network with other SAP MaxAttention customers as well as SAP leadership and experts during breaks and dinner events.
Below you find a short summary with key highlights of the past events:
Our very first forum was hosted in Chicago, USA, where we piloted the new concept and invited a small group of customers who could join in person. The two-day event started with an inspiring talk by Timo Elliott, VP & Global Innovation Evangelist for SAP sharing his perspective on how innovation can be achieved in a volatile world. Next, Bob Marchand, Head of Premium Engagement Services North America introduced the customers to the new developments within SAP MaxAttention. The main topics of the two days were SAP MaxAttention in the cloud world and the journey to a clean core. Additional topics covered were sustainability, industry cloud, and business process intelligence. Customers highly valued the insights they received throughout the event. Concerns regarding their current security challenges were raised and our experts guided them towards a better understanding of how to make the best of their SAP MaxAttention engagements.
The second event was held in Bangalore, India. The one-day on-site event was very well received by the customers. Sindhu Gangadharan, SVP & MD, SAP Labs India introduced the customers and shared the idea and capabilities of SAP Labs India. Kurt Bauer, Global SVP of Premium Engagements, guided them through SAP MaxAttention’s strategic direction. Focus topics of the event were Business Transformation with RISE with SAP and SAP Signavio solutions, Journey to a Clean Core based on SAP BTP and Intelligent Custom Code Management. These were followed by a brief yet comprehensive overview on the newly established Select Success Experience from the SAP Services and Support portfolio. The customers valued the insights regarding SAP’s latest product developments and were eager to dive deeper into the technical innovations SAP offers.
Our third and final Forum in 2022 was held in Berlin, Germany, for customers from Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The main topics were business transformation in the cloud world and the path to a clean core, with a strong focus on current topics such as sustainability. Martin Wezowski, Chief Futurist and Head of The Future Hub at SAP, kicked off the two-day event with an inspiring talk that not only highlighted the urgency of the current economic and global situation, but also provided perspectives on how SAP can add value. Regional Premium Engagements Leaders Stephanie Lockemann (MEE) and Jaikumar Ramakrishnan (EMEA North) joined Kurt Bauer as Global Program Lead in a lively discussion with customers about their needs and expectations. The customers in Berlin expressed their appreciation for SAP MaxAttention and provided sometimes straightforward, but always constructive feedback. They also concluded that the forum was just the right size to facilitate open dialogues in a small group of 10-20 participants. They looked forward to an annual repeat as the annual and global SAP MaxAttention Summit is scheduled for next March.
The good news: customers rely on SAP MaxAttention and appreciate the clear guidance and detailed solution expertise they receive therefrom.
The consolidated customer feedback of all three events shows that customers overall share the sentiment of enjoying the close and especially in-person collaboration. They raised their interest in upcoming events to gain more insights and guidance on new developments and how best to leverage SAP MaxAttention services.
The SAP MaxAttention customers are front-running companies with highly digitized and heavily integrated process landscapes, leverage SAP MaxAttention engagements to successfully navigate their transformation process.
