I was thinking on the walk back home last night from the Lesbians Who Tech Summit in San Francisco about the many once-in-a-lifetime standout moments from this conference.

The first year, I got to host the Ignite Sessions and speak on the main stage.

Last year, I got to meet Edie Windsor, 86-year-old former technology manager at IBM and, via the Supreme Court, the reason we have marriage equality across the US, and when I rushed up to hug her she grabbed my cheeks and said “I feel like I’m related to you all!”

This year, shortly before #BlackLivesMatter co-founder Patrisse Cullors took the stage to talk “Fighting Systemic Racism While Simultaneously Healing,” a woman and two small black kids squeezed into seats in front of me. The second Cullors took the stage, the entire 2500+ over-capacity audience leaped to our feet into a huge standing ovation. I will never forget the look on those kids’ faces as they turned around to see us all rise for the woman who vows to “continue to create, organize, and shut it down until all Black lives matter.” The future is yours, kids.

I am proud that SAP is sponsoring this inspiring, intersectional Summit for the fourth consecutive year and I obviously don’t have enough superlative words to say about the Summit itself -- but also about how awesome the SAP family involved has been. I’m grateful for the insights and engagement of our hard working team of recruiters from SAP and our extended family of Concur and TripIt. Every time I walked by to our super cool SAP table in the recruiting zone, our representatives were absolutely swamped and engaged with excellent and diverse talent about SAP’s job opportunities. Even though they are working so hard, they each tell me they love this event and can’t wait to keep coming back every year.

But since this is also at its heart a tech conference, I was also thinking about how we at SAP got to have a greater tech presence than ever this year at the Summit. We had the privilege to spotlight SAP technology at the Tech Crawl, we featured SAP’s Director of Security Product Management in a cybersecurity session, and SAP Silicon Valley’s stellar communications team was there to help us capture the moments that our folks flew in from around the world to share.
Therefore, herewith, a compilation of four of the great SAP technologies on display - be sure to watch them all!:

rachel.ho, SAP Analytics Product Marketing from Vancouver, on BusinessObjects Cloud and SAP Digital Boardroom, with a side of virtual reality!

Yours truly, Moya Watson, HCP Product Management from San Francisco, with SAP HANA Cloud Platform Internet of Things Services, AKA “The Luxury Wine Demo”

Gerlinde Zibulski, Director of Security Product Management from Germany, with key themes on cybersecurity

Casey Cheung, with updates about TripIt from here in San Francisco

There’s much more from SAP Silicon Valley both on Twitter and in the full YouTube playlist.

Everyone should get the chance to be as fired up as I am about technology and its future because of this Summit. If you’re interested in being a part of it, reach out to me. Our brightest future tech and world leaders are watching. Thank YOU for being awesome!
