New Learning Journey for SAP Master Data Governance for Beginners

Many times I have been asked about SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) and its versions and deployment options: whether it is on premise only, or if it is also geared towards the cloud (private and public), which master data domains are covered by a given version, and which extensibility options may come into play.

In a nutshell, the MDG product versions are:

• SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition, master data governance (with the same scope as the on-premise version SAP Master Data Governance on SAP S/4HANA)
• SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Edition, master data governance
• SAP Master Data Governance, cloud edition

@Mark63: Thank you for providing the info on different MDG deployment options. I had a query, what if any customer would like to move to Cloud now but the MDG solution "SAP MDG, Cloud edition" provides only Business Partner data model and the MDG solution "SAP S/4 HANA Public Cloud Edition, MDG" also provides only Business Partner and Product without Central Governance functionality.

Central governance is planned to come with SAP S/4 HANA Public Cloud Edition, master data governance (according to SAP Roadmap Explorer). Also, more domains are planned for SAP Master Data Governance, cloud edition (according to SAP Roadmap Explorer).

Does this update change the possibility of hub and co-deployment? or that concept remains unchanged?

The concept of hub and co-deployment when implementing SAP Master Data Governance on SAP S/4HANA (on premise or private cloud) for centralized governance remains unchanged. Please note that this topic is also covered in the learning journey.
