In wave 2019.01, BPC Data Acqusition workflow is ported to new DA framework which is future-ready architecture.
Functional wise, this new feature brings:
- Unified user experience
- Some new enhancements
New Workflow
New wizard to better guide user to set configurations(Separate the phase of query definition and data mapping)
Query can be saved with customized identifier and be reused in import features. It’s quite convenient for subsequent import using same or similar filter/mapping.
Dimensions can be created as public dimensions or private dimensions in Basic model to make the environment lean.
Query builder is used to keep same user experience as with other data sources (import from BW, import from S4/HANA….)
Unified mapping experience. Support set currency dimension in mapping dialog
Schedule
- Import setting is support
- Multiple jobs can be grouped in one schedule with dependency.
- Schedule is supported for export as well
- Scheduling notification
Limitation
Model exported in old BPC DA can’t be imported to tenant with new BPC DA.
Manual actions after migration
All existing BPC connections will be migrated to new DA connections of “USER” type. For BPC
writeback models, the connection owner should share the connection to other involved planners. 3 steps of manual work per connection.
