So, I am a HUGE fan of amusement parks.
Roller coasters, water slides, tilt-a-whirls, extreme ferris wheels, not-s0-extreme ferris wheels… sign me up.
But you know how at each park there are the top 5 rides that always have the biggest lines? The ones where as a kid your dad patiently saves your spot in the scorching heat so you can sprint towards your 3rd churro of the day? And when you’re finally old enough, you and your adrenaline-junkie friends devise a plan of attack so you’re at the gates the moment the park opens and sprint towards the biggest and baddest rides?
When I got word that I’d be privileged enough to join Moya Watson, Jillian Babbel, Alex Bogdan and the rest of the SAP crew at Lesbians Who Tech, a quick glance at the agenda was all it took to revert me back to 10 year-old Rachel’s unadulterated GLEE at the shiny gates of Disneyland. It’s almost Day 1 and I’m raring to go at the start gate!
The 5th grade version of me would be proud to know that instead of meeting Disney princesses (nothing personal, Mulan), I will be hanging out with 2,500 real-life superheroes in the Castro District of San Francisco.
And speaking of lineups, here’s just a small snapshot of something worth arriving early for:
