Join the Customer Engagement Initiative project for SAP Application Interface Framework

SAP runs a Customer Engagement Initiative (CEI) project for Monitoring and Error Handling in SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud. The Customer Engagement Initiative is an influence program which provides you with early insight into new development topics. You have the chance to be an early adopter of our new developments providing feedback, input and ideas at early stages of the development process. In fact, this influence project is more or less about SAP Application Interface Framework (AIF) which has become the de facto default monitoring and error handling tool in SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud.  As you may know, AIF is an integral part of SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud for implementing, monitoring, and managing application interfaces. It provides an intuitive framework that helps developers streamline the initial setup of an application interface and offers monitoring and error handling capabilities targeted at line of business users. It helps business users reducing ongoing maintenance effort, speeding up error resolution and freeing IT to focus on technical-level monitoring. And as business users manage the interfaces, authorization functions protect sensitive data and help ensure data integrity.

Within the CEI project we would like to cover the following topics:

• Fiori UI for message monitoring incl. monitoring of serialization scenarios


• Fiori UI for customizing & configuration of the application interfaces


• Interoperability between AIF & SAP Cloud Platform

Goal of the project is to collect feedback from SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud customers to be able to shape the planned development based on customer needs in general. In particular, the project mainly focuses on validating the AIF monitors in Fiori UI technology.

We plan to run regular calls and on-site workshops. Depending on the particular topic we address two kinds of personas, for the Fiori UI message monitoring rather LoB users, users who do the actual message monitoring, and for the customizing & configuration Fiori UIs it would be rather an implementation developer.
