Initial contributions for SAP automation by IBM, Red Hat and SVA

Create and manage your SAP on Linux environments with our innovative new open source platform

Together with our partner ecosystem, IBM, Red Hat, SUSE and SAP are collaborating in an initiative to centrally capture and manage new SAP related assets in a single, holistic platform. This will make it easier for customers to find corresponding assets by providing an integrated end-to-end customer experience.

For Red Hat and IBM the longterm goal is for this community to be the go-to upstream repository for all cloud commercial offerings related to SAP. IBM has taken the first step forward by contributing terraform code for various clouds that work well aligned with Ansible collections, generic SAP HANA architecture recommendations and sizing tools.

With other partners like SVA contributing and co-developing Ansible collections for SAP installation & operations as well as other OpenSource assets and SUSE contributing their own automation based on SALT, customers and partners will be able to realize their full potential from true OpenSource innovation, have exclusive access to the latest code, and give back to the community in an streamlined and transparent manner.

Stay tuned for Part II, where we’ll walk you through a user case scenario featuring IBM Cloud.
