Today, consumers are in an enviable position when it comes to having access to information to help them make decisions on what products or services to buy. Thanks to the internet, we can now find in a matter of seconds, a multitude of businesses for whatever job that we need completed. But how do companies in the new B2B world choose which businesses is the best with which to work? Most look for accredited trade certifications to ensure that a business can deliver the services that they need. The software world is not different and this was one of the main reasons for the creation of the SAP Recognized Expertise, or REx program. REx offers a key benefit for both the customers and the consulting companies that hold the accreditation.

The SAP REx program was introduced in 2012 to recognize SAP partners that possessed a combination of technical knowledge and project experience in a specific solution and/or industry. It was sorely needed because at that point the portfolio of products under the SAP umbrella was growing at an incredibly fast pace. Individual partners who previously had focused on ERP or on-Premise solutions were having to adapt to new cloud solutions as SAP’s portfolio grew.

There was a need to be able to differentiate our partners based on their focus area of expertise, be it in a product or industry vertical. The program requirements state that members need to have a minimum of 3 certified consultants and 3 satisfied customers, having gone through a recent project implementation. This way we are validating not only the technical knowledge but also how that knowledge was applied to deliver a successful outcome.

Currently there are 29 partner organizations worldwide that hold an REx accreditation. It is easy for customers and prospects to see this list by using the filter options (shown below) on the SAP Partner Finder. There are 4 specific areas that are covered. You can easily seem them when you click on the partner page.

There are 4 focus areas in SuccessFactors for which partners can achieve Recognized Expertise. These are Employee Central & Payroll, Learning, Recruiting & Onboarding and Talent Solutions. Ultimately, SAP has always offered choices to our customers. Selecting an implementation partner involves looking at many aspects of the proposal and evaluating the total offering. By making these programs more transparent, we improve your ability to choose and this should be welcomed by all customers.
