SAP Cloud Platform Workflow Management is a cloud service offering of the extension suite to digitise workflows, automate processes, manage decision and gain visibility into the end-to-end process.

Workflow Management enables customers to do more with less, ensure compliance and flexibly adapt processes to changing business requirements.

It offers content that can be explored in SAP API Business Hub and consumed in Workflow Management.

This includes content that can be used to provide visibility and insights into the following critical end-end processes - Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

Problem Statement

Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables are critical processes in any company. Inefficiency, non-compliance and delays in these processes can be detrimental and severely affect the companies reputation and its bottom line.

Solution

The following content packages delivered with SAP Cloud Platform Workflow Management address this need. You can learn more about each one by them by going over videos as well.

With these content packages, business experts can gain insights into their processes, take action where needed and thus streamline the process and ensure compliance.

These packages contain a visibility scenario with events that depict the life-cycle of the process. Hence all you need to do is to consume the content package and adapt it to your needs.

How to consume the content package

All you need to do is to follow the three simple steps

  1. Subscribe to and set-up SAP Cloud Platform Workflow Management

  2. Search and import the content package into your tenant

  3. Productise the content package by adapting the visibility scenario to your business needs and developing logic to push events from the backend application

Hi Tarun,

Thank you for the information. I've read and watch the video and it mentioned the ability to connect to any backend. I've installed the product but I need to connect to ECC.

Question:

Are you able to connect the above mentioned solutions to SAP ECC 6?

regards,

Hi Jeff,

The connectors to ECC are not yet available as content.

You would need to use an ETL mechanism to extract data from ECC, transform the data into events and push these events into Process Visibility. The ETL process is a regularly running job which supports a delta mechanism.

If you can expose the required data via an RFC/API you can use SAP Cloud Platform Integration for the ETL process (for an example you can see how we have extracted survey responses from a survey, transformed every survey response to an event and pushed the event into process visibility: https://api.sap.com/integrationflow/Push_Survey_Responses_to_SAP_Cloud_Platform_Process_Visibility).

If you want to directly work on the ECC tables then I would suggest using SAP Data Intelligence for the ETL process.
