This blog focuses on improvements and features added in the checklist functionality in the Generic Application (My Work Packages/My Work Items etc..) and My Checklist Steps of Focused Build. With ST-OST SP14, we have added the cancel button for simple checklist and also introduced decision-based checklist.

Simple Checklist - Cancel Button available for Optional Steps

The cancel button is now available for optional steps of a checklist. Once we press the cancel button, the step status is set to "Rejected" and it is disabled for any further changes.

Decision Based Checklist and Execution based on Triggers

First step which is displayed when selection a decision-based checklist is the one which has initial flag marked in the customizing. All steps of the decision-based checklist are assigned some triggers in the customizing. The step status can only be changed via selection of some trigger. If trigger has "finalize" flag marked, then the step associated with it after trigger execution will be set to completed. Based on trigger selected next step is also determined. If the finalize flag is not set, step status remains same, and checklist execution is halted there itself. All this can be set in the customizing:

Here, I have selected a decision-based checklist, and you can see that only one step is displayed, which is the initial step defined in the customizing.

Once, I select this step and go to the customizing option "Assign Triggers", here I have already defined some triggers for this step and the same will also be seen in status dropdown for the step after the partner function has been assigned. Also, note that there is a next step associated with each trigger value.

Once I select the trigger "Unconfirmed" and press on save, you will see the next step is visible and the first step status is set to completed.

My Checklist Steps Application Enhancements

"Rejected" status is also included in the "Status (Step)" dropdown now and filtering on this status is also possible now.

Hello Vasundhra,

Thanks for this blog.

We understand that we can cancel /Reject one of the checklist steps in ST-OST SP Level 14 which is very useful feature.

Although one question, can we reuse the "Rejected" step to open again and complete it respectively?

Also, we are on SP13, so do we need to wait for this change till further upgrade or it can be done via single note implementation, if yes, what is respective note number.

Regards,

Shivani.

Hello Shivani,

After a checklist step has been cancelled/rejected and saved, you cannot open it again.  This is a feature we introduced with SP14, so you will have to upgrade to get the functionality. We have no intentions to down port this feature.

Thanks,

Vasundhra

Hello Vasundhra,

Thanks for confirmation.

We want to make checklist field mandatory for transaction type S1NC (in enhance pace) SP13.

either to make Checklist field (not steps) mandatory or when NC created default checklist to be appeared for all NCs.

We could see in CRM UI it is possible to make it mandatory but not in FB. Can you please suggest/help on this.

Regards,

Shivani.
