We're excited to announce our latest innovation, the "MT on-the-fly" feature, which offers real-time translation of SAP Help Portal content, powered by SAP’s AI-based Machine Translation from SAP Translation Hub.
Having finished our internal validation process, we're grateful to everyone who participated and offered their insightful feedback.
Now, we’re ready to kickstart the external piloting phase. Commencing on Wednesday, May 22, and continuing until June 14 (links might work even after this period of time), we're extending an invitation to everyone, both within and outside SAP, to try out the machine translation of our SAP Help Portal content. Products available for trial include:
SAP Product Lifecycle Management
SAP Business Technology Platform
Best Practices for SAP Business Technology Platform
Value Accelerator Library for SAP Signavio Solutions
SAP Commerce Cloud, Integration Extension Pack
During this piloting phase, we're eagerly inviting external engagement. Much like in the internal validation stage, constructive feedback is crucial to perfecting the final feature.
To try it out, just click on one of the links above, select your preferred language via the language selector and let the provided translation of the topic impress you.
If you would like to provide feedback, please click on the link to the feedback survey, which can be found in the disclaimer:
For any queries or comments regarding the "MT on-the-fly" feature, its user experience, or the forthcoming stages, we encourage you to connect with us via the comment section.
We’re anticipating the launch of this game-changing feature that aims to improve global language availability, deepen our connection with our international customers, and further solidify SAP's position as a leader in digital innovation.
The "MT on-the-fly" feature currently supports Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Czech, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese for Brazil, Russian, and Spanish. Existing human translations will be prioritized, with machine translations filling in where human translations aren't available. PDFs, What's New Viewer, Product Pages, and graphics aren't currently supported but will be included in future updates.
In Q3 2024, we plan to make "MT on-the-fly" live with selected products in 10 languages, and expand the language scope to 38 languages by December 2024.
Machine translation (MT) is the process of automatically translating texts from a source language to a target language, based on artificial intelligence methods and previously translated data. We are using the machine translation provided by Document Translation from SAP Translation Hub. The machine translation has been trained to perform at its best when translating documents that contain SAP-related content, and it is available in the languages supported by SAP Translation Hub. Document Translation can be used as a stand-alone service under the commercial offering of SAP Translation Hub (available on SAP Business Technology Platform), or via existing integrations (such as the one available in SAP Enable Now).
