With our latest release of SAP Mobile Start, we added some powerfull security features to our app that can be configured in mobile services via the SAP Mobile Services Admin Cockpit.

All features are part of the Mobile Settings Exchange section and can be set with a feature flag or in a dedicated settings section.

Clipboard protection

Now, system admins are able to disable the copy and past functionality inside the app to prevent users from copying personal or confidential information from the app or outside of the app.

When turned on, the new browser experience on iOS devices, and the SAP Mobile Start own in-app browser on all Android devices (replacing Chrome Custom Tabs) will be used automatically.

Important to know is that custom keyboards like the Googles GBoard can still make use to their own clipboard.

Disable Sharing and Opening Links in External Browsers

When this feature flag is set, users are not able to share web content, like SAP S/4HANA UI5 apps anymore. Furthermore, users can not open web content in the device browsers anymore, like the Safari browser.

When turned on, the new browser experience on iOS devices, and the SAP Mobile Start own in-app browser on all Android devices (replacing Chrome Custom Tabs) will be used automatically.

Locking and Wiping Policy

This feature allows system administrators to set a threshold of days of inactivity after which a user is locked out from the app and all local data will be cleared. The users will have to sign in to the app again. Locking and wiping will lead in both cases to an logout and data cleanup for the end user.

    Device Compliance

This feature allows system administrators to see if all their device that are using SAP Mobile Start are compliant. If there is a non compliant device detected the admin can get an notification and react on it via the Mobile Service Admin UI.
