The Data Transition Validation (DTV) is a tool (available since the S/4HANA 2020 release) available for SAP S/4HANA conversion and upgrade projects. DTV facilitates data collection (before and after conversion/upgrade) and can compare the two sets of data to validate a successful transformation. DTV can analyze the before values in the source ECC/S/4HANA system and the target S/4HANA system and determines if the values align and match. This tool eliminates the previous process of manually collecting and then comparing before and after reports to determine a successful conversion/upgrade. Using DTV can lead to substantial time efficiency for conversion and upgrade validation activities.
Early this year, I spent significant time testing the tool while developing a System Conversion Bootcamp workshop and I was able to understand DTV’s functionalities and capabilities. I'm delighted to share my findings and insights with you through these DTV blog post series.
