Day 12 was the Chinese New Year...it was marvelous.

----------

Today on Friday, we managed to put the deliverable structure for Hapinoy as a team. Although it is not our scope to get into the very specific details of their training side of functions, we had a chance to explore their remarkable journey on how they have been providing training sessions to nanays on numerous topics.

It was impressive because we thought the knowledge around helping sari-sari- stores and also running their own business as social entrepreneurs they have accumulated over the years could be somehow used to educate even the new young entrepreneurs as well and could possibly be integrated into a university curriculum.

We are talking about 4000 sari-sari store owners that were educated by the Hapinoy team with rather limited resources. 4000... easier said than done. There is so much hardship to reach out to the remote and rural areas of Philippines to accomplish this task and I am not even yet talking about the training logistics, but the reaching out aspect only.

This social mission clearly differentiates Hapinoy from anyone out there.

Training is a cost center for them, meaning to say there is not a single drop of revenue generated from this line of function. Yes, training helps spread the Hapinoy image, but still, at the end of the day, it is the citizens of Philippines that benefit from something that is delivered to their doorsteps.

Our job is to now to assist Hapinoy run a sustainable business by providing some guidance on moving to the next stage when it comes to their core operations around the mobile money related processes, where a certain amount of fee collection model helps them to generate revenue and indeed, this is of paramount importance for their growth. The potential is there if you consider the huge number of sari-sari stores in the market, however, this is a very daunting task.

Time is the essence here.
