Once again it’s time for a new blog about the news and contributions in the space of SAP NetWeaver Decision Service Management (NW DSM) and Business Rule Framework plus (BRFplus).
With the help of SAP consultant and BRFplus veteran, tibor.molnar, we were finally able to release a document that comprehensively describes how you can use SAP Business Workflow to set up a custom approval and release process for the deployment of business rule updates.
Based on the experience gained in projects that combined the capabilities of SAP Application Interface Framework and NW DSM, richard.feco has produced a little promotional video. This could be an interesting combination for many customers.

eduardo.chiocconi recently published the 2014 roadmap deck for NW DSM. Almost all of the topics in the 2013 roadmap have already been shipped. In the roadmap for 2014 and beyond we see improvements in test automation, predictive analytics, and HANA (deployment, exchange). While the latter is a long term development, you will soon hear more about the first two (test automation and predictive analytics). I have just finished the internal development for model import from KXEN InfiniteInsight into NW DSM/BRFplus.
In a collaborative effort, we were able to provide a document that explains the capabilities of the improved rule execution trace. It also shows how to write a UI5 application to visualize trace data in diagrams, such as execution path or result distribution. The trace is the basis for rule optimization. We also plan to create an integrated demo showing deployment, execution of rules, tracing, analysis and adjustment.
On April 1, more than 60 German-speaking customers and partners met in St.Leon-Rot for the first DSAG Topic Day BRFplus/NW DSM. DSAG is the German SAP User Group, comparable with ASUG in North America. tobias.trapp summarized the event in a blog. He was also a major driver of the event. steffen.pietsch2took over the organization. Thanks to them and thanks to further customer presentations by gnter.schepers (Claas) and Gerhard Kregel (Voestalpine), Topic Day was a huge success.
amanjit.singh provided an excellent technical document with step-by-step instructions on how to use BRFplus in GRC Access Requests. The many screenshots make this a very instructional guide.
