Syniti Rapid Data Governance (RDG) is an SAP Certified accelerator and Data Governance based Product that automates the processes of many technical Configuration steps that are required to implement SAP MDG. It is designed in such a manner that allows any business user without or with limited technical SAP MDG knowledge can perform the Complex MDG configuration in such a simple way. 

SAP Master Data Governance allows the users to freely create email templates and use them in the rule-based workflows. Traditionally, a user must perform the following steps to assign to do this configuration in SAP MDG System.  

  • Go to SE18 TCode.
  • Enter the BADI name USMD_SSW_CHECK_AGENT_TABLE.

This blog describes how Syniti RDG allows the users perform the same configuration without having to do any coding.  RDG reduced the efforts of the user to by developing a great feature to create and assign the Email template to workflows with few simple steps using its intuitive and user friendly UI5 based interface. 

With RDG, user can easily create and assign the Email template to workflows by performing the following steps. 

For Creating a New Email Template  

STEP 1. On the Main screen Click on the top right Menu Bar pritikar_2-1706606811635.pngto open the Administer Setting. 2pritikar_3-1706606811636.png

 

STEP 2.  Click on the Administer Settings from the list and an Email Template tile will appear on the screen. 

  1. Click on the Email Template Tile and a new screen will appear.3pritikar_5-1706606811639.png

STEP 3.  

  1. On the same screen, existing Email Templates will appear in the column on the left.   
  2. To create a new Email Template, click on the pritikar_6-1706606811641.png

STEP 4.    To create a new Email template following required information is needed that user needs to fill in these fields at the top of the template.  

  1. Data Model 
  2. Template name
  3. Subject (of email) 
  4. Description ( optional)   5pritikar_10-1706606811645.png

STEP 5. Write the text of the email in the editor below the template details.  A variety of placeholders are available on the right side of the screen to customize the email with the specifics of the change request. Any additional required attribute may also be included.  A link to the change request can also be provided to the recipient for easier approval. 6pritikar_11-1706606811647.png

STEP 6.   Click the Save button in the top right above the template details to save the new template.  Choose an appropriate Transport Request.  After saving, use Tcode SO10 to view the format of the text in SAP.  7pritikar_12-1706606811648.png

 

For Assigning an Email Template to a Workflow 

STEP 1.  Choose the Manage MDG Workflow tile from the RDG home screen.   8pritikar_13-1706606811650.png

STEP 2. Choose an existing change request type or create a new one.  Click the Edit Connections icon in the Workflow Graph at whatever point an automatically generated email is desired.  9pritikar_15-1706606811653.png

STEP 3. At each action where an email is desired, click the Email Template drop-down box for that row and choose a template.  Clicking the Manage Email Templates icon next to this drop-down box will display the selected template details.  11pritikar_16-1706606811655.png

STEP 4. Click Add Email pritikar_17-1706606811656.png to add email addresses. Add as many addresses as required.  12pritikar_18-1706606811657.png

STEP 5. Save the workflow.  

The email template is ready to use instantly, and changes are saved instantly in backend as well.
