Step By Step Embedded SLT Configuration & Realtime Replication to SAP BTP HANA Cloud

Introduction:

•  S4HANA RISE 2022 SP02 version offers free embedded SLT license which can be leveraged to carry out real-time replication from RISE system to BTP HANA Cloud
• This involves enabling SLT configuration from S4 & creating connection between S4HANA RISE system to BTP HANA Cloud

Benefits:

• Realtime replication from S4 system to BTP HANA Cloud public system.
• Helps to improve data availability & performance.
• No additional license cost for SLT

Pre-requisites:

• Import the root certificate for CN=hanacloud.ondemand.com, related intermediate in the $SECUDIR/sapcli.pse at operating system. Please note that this certificate import at Operating System level handled by SAP for RISE system. Please raise SAP ticket to make it happen.You can get those certificates from the link:

• Please install sap notes in the sequence when you run the tcode CNV_NOTE_ANALYZER_SLT in S4HANA source system.
• Make sure the RFC user has below roles to replicate data from S4 RISE to BTP HANA cloud.Youcan add this role from SU01 tcode.

Key Steps for Embedded SLT Configuration:

Go to DBCO tcode & then provide DB connection name, DBMS, HANA Cloud User & HANA Cloud password.

• Connection info = BTP HANA Cloud SQL endpoint.
• User= BTP HANA Cloud user. Here it is DBADMIN.
• Password= DBADMIN password.

• Copy SQL Endpoint from HANA cloud central

• Open Tcode DBACOCKPIT. Add DBCON Entry. Make sure you use the same connection name = ‘HANA-CLOUD’ that is used in DBCO

• Once added, right click on the connection HANA_CLOUD & test connection. You will get the following message.

• Go to LTRC Transaction Code in S4HANA & provide following information.
• Make sure RFC connection highlighted below should work from SM59 tcode from S4HANA.

• Confirm that Standard Replication configuration is running fine

Steps to Replicate Data from LTRC Tcode:

• Go to LTRC tcode from S4HANA click on HANA_CLOUD1.

• Click on Data Provisioning.

• Add table name T004T & Schedule Action

• Following status will appear.

• Refresh the screen & status will change automatically to initial load.

• After few minutes replication will complete

Steps in BTP HANA Cloud to View the Result

• Login to BTP HANA Cloud Database Explorer from SAP HANA Cockpit

• Open the table to display result from Cockpit Database.
