How they got Married...?!?    Being first post on the SCN and wanted to tell the story of the OpenText and SAP, I have chosen this title to pull the attention of people to discuss the offerings of OpenText for SAP. Going forward I would like to discuss about the various Products, Functionality and Technical things of OpenText connectivity with SAP.

OpenText(OT) being leader in ECM space acquired IXOS, which has involvement in development of Archivelink.

Archivelink is a SAP interface to connect to 3rd party archive server in which OpenText is strong in.

Having strong archiving capabilities with OpenText Archive Server(OTAS) using documents(not just only data), OT has added beauty of SAP Business Process through development of EIM, CCM add-on's. Which means when a employee is created(hired) all his documents like email correspondence, resumes, scanned degrees store along with him with NO extra storage space within SAP. They are stored in OTAS compressed.

Some of the add-on's that it developed to align the Archiving & Content Management functionality with SAP are:

Vendor Invoice Management(VIM) - Automated Vendor Invoice Document postage through OT developed workflow's

Extended Enterprise Content Management(xECM) -  Extending collaboration of various SAP Business objects document functionality for non-SAP users

Employee File Management(EFM) - Supporting the HCM document capabilities

Document Presentment for SAP - Customer Communication Management solution which improves experience through the automation of customer communications

there are some more add-on's OT developed which you can explore.

If this SAP-OT marriage story interests you. I will continue to contribute seriously!
