It was on Monday evening, when I saw a tweet about the SIT being arranged in Kuala Lumpur(KL) #SITKUL. I immediately started tweeting back and followed up, to get to know if there were any slots available to present a session as a speaker.

Luckily I got a slot and also registered myself as the volunteer and helped in organizing the first ever SIT at KL, Malaysia. Unlike India it wasn't a full day event but was conducted at the end of work day. We had around 25 participants registered for the event and we were expecting some numbers to drop down considering the event held during the evening but we were surprised to see more number of participants than registered. We completed the registration and started with dinner.

Post dinner it was muhammadarifbin.mohamedjohari (AJ) who started with the presentation for the day with introduction session on SAP Mentors. There where three knowledge sharing sessions that day of 30 mins each 1) Lumira and design studio 2) HANA for telecom (the most important,   As I was the speaker) 3) on Big data as game changer.

Faruq and one more speaker started with the Design studio and Lumira, this went on for more than 30 mins. I was bit worried as mine was next and wasn't sure if I would have all the participants for my session, since it was close to 9pm.

I started with my session on SAP HANA for Telecom, to my surprise all of the participants remained back and must admit their energy level. Participants were too keen in listening and posted a lot of questions. I started with topic to understand what the participants know about HANA and explained further. Later I also went on telling my success story of implementing SAP HANA and SAP business objects for a teleco customer during my last assignment. I hope my knowledge sharing session was useful to the participants.

We had a round of photo session after the session , which is must :-). It was good event to start with and build network with local SAP Community. We would love to organize more and love to see more and participants joining the event.

Thanks to AJ for arranging the food and beverages and all the speakers and participants on successful inception of SAP Inside track Malaysian Chapter #SITKUL. Cheers

We would continue to organize more such events and get the community stronger in Malaysia and other South east Asian regions.

We have collected the feedback to improve further events, if there are any more you may feel free to comment here.

Some photos from the events are here.

Thanks & Regards,

Vijay
