On 05.14.24 morning business user showed me an error in C4C when you “request external pricing” for quote.
Looking at the error (HTTP Code 401), it is authorization error. Since authorizations are handled through certificates, it must be some certificate error.
I started looking into different certificates but could not find any certificate with error.
Since this was an error for pricing, I went through the following path. C4C à Administrator à General Settings à Communication Arrangements à Communication Scenario – Pricing in Sales quote follow up scenario in SAP business suite à Edit à Technical Data and downloaded certificate for outbound communications.
This certificate is valid till 10.31.24 but when I click on certificate path I see some issue.
The middle certificate in the chain has expired.
On further search found this blog.
https://community.sap.com/t5/technology-blogs-by-sap/faq-for-c4c-certificate-renewal/ba-p/13679685
and SAP note about this certificate expiration.
https://me.sap.com/notes/3402581/E
The note was not very clear about what to do or how to update the certificate. But on the blog, I found this mention.
“The only action required refers to removing from your CPI Trust list the SAP Passport CA G2 (with the validity to May 14th ) and replaced by the new SAP Passport CA G2 which contains the extended validity date.”
On C4C when I look at path Administrator à Common task à Edit certificate trust list à Issued by – SAP Cloud root CA, there is a certificate with expiration on 05.14 and there is a certificate with expiration on 12.18.2026. I deleted the certificate with expiration on 05.14.24 and C4C quote is working again.
I spent lot of time today to resolve this. I hope this will help other users like me.
