Informative Note – Created this blog to provide information on how to install ALD software.

Business users will face below Layout Designer error while viewing/creating form layout.

Transaction: SFP

Resolution: Install Adobe Lifecycle Designer Software in your Local PC which helps for creating/viewing layout.

Installation steps:

Download Adobe Lifecycle Designer software from SMP.

Extract software zip file and launch Application. Make sure you have admin access to install
software.

 

Choose your preferred path for installing software files.

 

Reboot your computer for successful installation.

 

Once rebooted, you can see ALD installed in your Local PC.

You can view/create layout now.

Login SAP system.

Transaction: SFP -> Create/view Layout

Select “Allow” – This will use ALD installed in your PC and shows layout.

NB: for Web text search the message is:

Could not start Layout Designer (See long text)

Message no. FPUIFB086

Diagnosis

The forms design tool for developing the form layout could not be started; either it is not installed or there are errors in the installation.

Procedure

Make sure that you have the forms design tool installed on your desktop (the tool is part of the SAPGUI installation).

Refer also to SAP Note 1121176.

Note 1121176 (ALD 8.0) is now obsolete but you can find the other notes at SAP Support:
