How Job Scheduling Management helps?

The primary reason why we chose Job Management from Solution Manager is - In huge landscapes we see jobs running for a long period of time and none having any info what exactly is that job doing, and whether we still need it etc.

We had a problem of finding the Job Owners/Job Requestors for these Long running jobs and Cancelled Jobs. People hesitate to take any action on such jobs because they don't have any info on how it will be affecting the business just in case if they decide to cancel or delete that job.

For Example, A Basis/Solman consultant has joined an organization recently. He came across a set of older jobs which are running for a long time. Since he is new to the organization he might not be having the access of the older E-mails which consists the complete details of these older jobs. Even if he have the access to the older emails, It will be a time taking process to search for each job and find the relevant e-mail and check who is the owner of that particular job.

With the help of Job Management from Solution Manager, we can enter the contact details of the job requestors and Distribution List of their team in the Job Document while creating the Job. So, this will help us in contacting them easily in case of long running jobs and cancelled jobs.

Feature of adding the contact details of the person Responsible

With Job Scheduling Management, We can schedule the jobs from the Solution manager itself instead of scheduling it the jobs from managed systems.

Job Documentation helps us in documenting the troubleshooting procedures, scheduling restrictions, contact details etc.
