One of the new features in Design Studio 1.3 is setting up Conditional Formatting without relying on the underlying BEx query set up.

First as shown above I select a chart, and one of the properties is Conditional Formatting.

Create a new rule by clicking in the "New Rule" button.

In my example I want to highlight in red projects over budget.  I name the rule and state that if the balance is less than 0 show it in red.

The example above shows the project overbudget in red.

This is very easy to set up and you don't have to rely on the BEx query to set up conditional formatting.
