SAP Analytics Cloud is a powerful analytics platform that empowers businesses to gain valuable insights from their data. One of its key functionalities is the ability to export data from models, allowing users to extract and analyze information outside the platform. In this article, I will guide you through the steps to export data from SAP Analytics Cloud models, helping you unlock the full potential of your data analysis.
Please note that the below method works only on the import models.
Step 1: Accessing the Export Job Feature
To begin exporting data, open your desired model in SAP Analytics Cloud. Navigate to the
Data Management section and locate the
Export Jobs icon. Click on it, and then select
Export Model and a File option. Then
Create a new schedule for the export.
Step 2: Configuring Export Settings
A new window will appear with three tabs. Start with the
Export Details tab. Here, you can customize the file settings according to your requirements. Choose whether to export the content in the File Repository or File Server. Select the destination folder and decide whether to include Account and/or Fact Data. If necessary, set a maximum row limit. Additional settings like separator information, export leaf members, and booked data can be enabled using the checkboxes.
Step 3: Selecting Data for Export
Proceed to the second tab, labeled
Select Data. Here, you can specify the dimensions you want to export by using the checkboxes. To refine the exported data based on specific dimensions, utilize the filter/funnel icon. Moreover, you can choose whether to extract ID and/or Description of the dimensions by clicking on the Grid/Table view icon.
Step 4: Scheduling the Export
Move on to the third tab, called
Scheduling. You have two options here:
Export Now for a one-time extract or
Scheduling Recurrence to set up a recurring export schedule.
Step 5: Initiating the Export
Once you have finalized your desired settings, click on the
Schedule button. SAP Analytics Cloud will generate a CSV file based on your selections. The file will be stored in the location you specified earlier. You can either download it directly from SAC by clicking on it or access it from the file server, depending on your chosen options in the earlier steps.
Exporting data from SAP Analytics Cloud models is a valuable capability that allows users to extend their data analysis beyond the platform itself. By following the step-by-step guide outlined in this article, you can effortlessly export data and harness it for further analysis, reporting, or integration with other systems.
