Create Datastore connection in BODS

What is Datastore in BODS ?

Datastores are used to setup connection between an application and the database. Datastore allows an application/software to read or write metadata from an application or database and to write to that database or application.

 

Purpose :

The purpose of this document is to know the what is Datastore and procedure to create the datastore connection in BODS system.

 

Procedure : 

Step by Step procedure to create the datastore connection in the BODS system to connect the application with the Non-SAP Database.

 

1. Open the data service designer and login to the system and then select the required repository where repository needs to be created

2. After Login to repository, click on Menu Tools --> Object Library

3.Click on Datstore Tab and then Right Click --> New

4. Fill all the connection details including username and password, and then click on Apply and Ok.

Once above steps are followed, you will see the newly created Datastore in the Repository.

 

Summary:

Once you create the Datastore in the repository, it can used to connect to fetch the data from external Database to BODS.
