Configuring ALK Maps

As described in the document you can configure your individual map provider in SAP Visual Business.

To configure the ALK Maps in SAP Visual Business you have to add a new map product and to insert the following properties.

To license ALK Maps,

• email ALK Technologies at alkmaps@alk.com,

• call ALK Maps Sales at 1-800-377-6453,

• complete the contract form located at http://www.alkmaps.com/ContactUS.aspx.
  

1. ALK Maps - Default Map

Map Product ID: ALK

Map Provider: ALK

Tile X Pixels: 256

Tile Y Pixels: 256

Min LOD: 1

Max LOD: 20

Hi Christopher,

I'm trying to configure the ALK maps on TM 9.2 system. I followed the instructions provided in the document. But all I see is a white screen with ALK copyright information. Is there another set of quad urls which needs to be maintained for the map to work? I was able to successfully display openstreet maps provided in SAP TM. So I guess the visual business and other related config is already in place.

Hi Juergen,

Last week, we upgraded the SAP TM from 9.2 to 9.3, ALK maps stopped working on NWBC tcode. It is working in TM collaboration portal though. I looked at the document HowTo setup Visual Business Native Client which states that additional UI component "UI Ext. AddOn 1.0 for NW 7.00 SP05" is required for ACF to work after it has been upgraded to VB2.1. If ACF is not being used, it will work fine on HTML5 island. Our system is currently on SAP_BS_FND 747 SP10 and SAP_UI 740 SP14. Are additional components required for ALK maps to work on SAP TM 9.3 and VB2.1

Hi Folks,

After the upgrade from TM 9.2 to TM 9.3, the previously configured ALK maps stopped working. The fix was to install the Unified rendering notes specified by SAP for the correct UI version. After the notes were installed, the ALK maps just showed a single tile.

In the below path change the Single Picture Layer to 'False'

SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -> SAP Transportation Management -> Transportation Management -> Basic Functions -> Geographical Map -> Visual Business -> Maintain Application Definitions

After this change, ALK map worked correctly.
